Parent Information
Parents play a vital role in supporting students and the school in enhancing the learning of students. From the simple conversations about the days learning over dinner to meeting with deans and teachers about progress in individual subjects, there are many ways for parents to provide support. Although many parents find high school less accessible than the primary years, we still welcome calls, e-mails, letters or arranged visits to keep effective contact with the home. With our recent website improvements we also hope to add a more interactive school ‘Intranet’ platform that will provide homes with greater access to learning resources and achievement information. We are at present able to provide up to date attendance and assessment information by mail or e-mail on request, but hope to soon allow on-line access for parents to make this much simpler.
Here's a few simple ways to support us with your child's learning:
- Asking about homework, assignments due and upcoming assessments that need study
- Keeping the attendance officer informed about absences in a timely manner
- Ensuring students have all required uniform and equipment (including a bag and homework diary)
- Monitoring student attitude to school and learning and letting us know if there are concerns or issues
- Support with camps, sports teams, school trips and events where applicable
- Contributing the school donation which allows so many of the ‘extras’ to happen
- Keeping up to date with payments such as the Parent Donation and School Fees.
Deans of the student’s year level should be the first point of contact about school related issues but as they are not always readily available the Deputy and Assistant Principals or the Guidance Counsellor can also be approached. Follow the ‘Contact Us’ link on the main menu for names and contact details.
