Student Life
"Life for students at Waiuku College is rich and varied with a wide range of opportunities available for participation in learning, sporting, cultural and social activities."
We are aware of our role as a focal point for many of the interests and passions of the young people in the wider Waiuku Community and we are committed to being an important and integral part of providing outlets and opportunities for participation.
We are proud of a sporting participation rate of over 73% compared to the national average of 50%. We are committed to maintaining our outdoor education program with camps at years 9, 10 and 12. We are proud of our Environmental Camp at Awhitu through which generations of our community have passed and of our links with local Marae on which our Year 9 students have been privileged to stay.
Our Maori Cultural group has maintained it’s winning ways again at this years festival and gives many students the chance to excel in cultural performance. Our performing and creative arts programmes continue to challenge and inspire our students to more creative and polished performances and achievements. Our sporting, cultura,l academic and social celebrations add a rich flavour to the learning experiences of our students and their families.
