Uniform


Students are expected to wear correct uniform on the way to, at and on the way home from school. Our community judges the college by the way students wear their uniform.


Boys:

boys

  • Maroon V-necked jersey or polar fleece with “Waiuku College” embroidered on
  • Regulation marl grey shirt with “Waiuku College” embroidered on
  • Regulation charcoal shorts or the winter option of wearing long regulation charcoal trousers
  • Grey socks with gold and maroon bands
  • Plain black leather shoes
  • Summer option of plain black or brown sandals (without socks)
  • Official College cap (summer option - floppy white cricket hat or plain straw hat)
  • The official uniform jacket in maroon and gold. If desired, jackets can be embroidered with “achievements” after gaining College authorisation
  • Scarf (optional) - maroon and gold
  • Sports & PE - regulation PE shirt and black shorts
  • Jewellery – None may be worn at school, with the exception of small plain silver or gold ear-rings or studs. (No other facial piercing is allowed). Items of cultural significance may be worn if approved, but a note to the house group teacher is required first. This will inform us of the reason for the request.
  • Grooming - Boys are expected to be neatly groomed and to be clean shaven at all times

 


Girls:

  • Regulation white shirt with “Waiuku College” embroidered on
  • Regulation skirt or the winter option of wearing long regulation charcoal trousers. Length of skirt to be no shorter than touching the ground when kneeling
  • Plain white knee length socks. Winter option of plain opaque black stockings or flesh coloured stockings – worn without socks
  • Plain black leather shoes
  • Summer option of plain black or brown sandals (without socks)
  • Official College cap (summer option - floppy white cricket hat or plain straw hat)
  • The official uniform jacket in maroon and gold. If desired, jackets can be embroidered with “achievements” after gaining College authorisation
  • Scarf (optional) - maroon and gold
  • Sports & PE - regulation PE shirt and black shorts

  • Grooming - No obvious make-up may be worn (including nail varnish), and girls are expected to be well groomed at all times

 


Year 13:


As of the start of the 2010 school Year there will be a uniform requirement for Year 13 students at Waiuku College.

These requirements are as follows:

All normal school uniform can still be worn. Footwear regulations will be the same as for the rest of the school.


Optional:

Girls:

  • Dress black skirt
  • White school polo or white dress blouse
  • Sleeveless Year 13 Vest
  • Black blazer (issued to prefects on lease)

Boys:

  • Dress black trousers
  • White school Yearr 13 polo or dress white shirt
  • Sleveless Tear 13 vest
  • Black blazer (Issued to prefects on lease)

The school uniform shop will be selling only the white polo, the sleeveless vest and items worn by other year levels.

Dress black trousers and skirts, dress blouses and shirts and blazers can be purchased from any suitable retailer.
